Women’s Leadership Study Explores Gender, Generational Differences
Apollo Research Institute welcomes Bethany Peters, PhD, who will conduct a quantitative study on how men, women, and members of different generations perceive and practice leadership. Dr. Peters holds master's and PhD degrees in economics from Duke University and specializes in labor market research. Her work has been published in Applied Economics and the Journal of Labor Research.
Other members of the women's leadership research team have now interviewed more than 95 inspiring women leaders, and are actively seeking new interviewees. The researchers are particularly interested in speaking with women in the high tech, education, and finance fields; franchise or small business owners; women who earned bachelor's degrees later in life; and women who started or changed careers after age 40. If you know women who might be interested, or if you would like to participate, please contact Apollo Research Institute at info@apolloresearchinstitute.com. Women must be business owners or hold at least a director-level position.

Education Evolving: Five Predictions for Higher Education--2012
An adult with a bachelor's degree will earn about one third more over a lifetime than someone who doesn't complete college. And today's employers are increasingly requiring degrees as a prerequisite for high-skill jobs. To remain employable and guarantee financial security during extended careers and into retirement, millions more Americans must commit to obtaining a higher education.
These facts come from a new book by Dr. Tracey Wilen-Daugenti, Vice President and Managing Director of Apollo Research Institute, Society 3.0: How Technology Is Reshaping Education, Work, and Society. In Society 3.0, Dr. Wilen-Daugenti presents a compelling case that higher education institutions must evolve to serve workplace skill requirements and respond to societal trends, such as earning a degree later in life. Based on her research at Apollo Research Institute, she makes the following predictions for higher education in 2012:
- Higher education will rule the résumé.
- The workforce of today may not be employable tomorrow.
- Education and work are converging as a lifelong pursuit.
- Students will learn when and where they choose.
- Businesses and colleges will unite to create a talent pipeline.
