Apollo Research Institute Partners with Edlink to Compare Outcomes for Employees Taking Online vs. On-Campus Courses

Apollo Research Institute partnered with EdLink, a leading educational services provider, to determine if workplace outcomes, including workplace retention rates, degree completion rates, and time needed to earn a degree, differ depending on whether employees take online or traditional classroom courses. To find the answer, researchers from the Apollo Research Institute analyzed EdLink data on more than 50,000 tuition assistance program participants from 40 companies in diverse industries. These employees took a combined total of nearly 300,000 classes from 2008 to 2010.

Findings show little difference between online and on-campus enrollees when it comes to workplace retention rates, degree completion rates, and time needed to earn a degree. Findings are reported in TAPWire, the official newsletter of EdLink.
